Packers defense vs. Redskins TE Chris Cooley. Even at full strength, Green Bay wasn't going to have an easy time with Cooley, whose last outing against the Packers resulted in a career-high nine receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown in 2007. Now that the Packers might be down two of their top linebackers with inside starter Nick Barnett questionable because of a wrist injury and nickel specialist Brandon Chillar doubtful because of a shoulder injury, Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb may be able to find all kinds of mismatches to exploit with Cooley down the field. The prospect of having A.J. Hawk or Desmond Bishop on Cooley, who is averaging nearly 15 yards per catch, doesn't favor the Packers.

Redskins FS Kareem Moore vs. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. This is Washington's first game against Rodgers, who has been terrific since replacing Brett Favre in 2008. Moore, who started just two games during his first two seasons, had an interception in his return from knee surgery at St. Louis and teamed with CB DeAngelo Hall to injured Eagles QB Michael Vick's ribs last week.

Redskins RB Ryan Torain vs. Packers MLB Nick Barnett. Torain has run well in relief of Clinton Portis the past two weeks, but with the longtime starter out 4-6 weeks, he'll get just the second start of his young career. Barnett and the Packers, tops against the run last season, are just 24th now. With 27 tackles, Barnett is two behind ILB A.J. Hawk and CB Charles Woodson, Green Bay's co-leaders.

The Packers could be severely short-handed at inside linebacker for Sunday's matchup at the Washington Redskins. Starter Nick Barnett will be getting a second opinion Friday on a wrist injury he sustained in the last game and may not be ready to play. Desmond Bishop would be the emergency fill-in since Brandon Chillar, who generally plays in the nickel packages, likely will miss a second straight game because of a shoulder strain.

With Clinton Portis out, Ryan Torain will start for the first time since Nov. 2, 2008, when he was with Denver.

If Trent Williams can't play again, the Redskins will start Stephon Heyer for the third straight game at left tackle.
